Situated next to the Tarka Trail, just a short 15 minute stroll from the village, the recreation ground offers an array of facilities for the village.
The 8.5 acre plot has features including; a large, well-kept cricket pitch; a nine hole pitch n’ put golf course; and a skate ramp; thanks to generous Lottery funding. In addition, the newly completed pavilion offers a kitchen, clubroom, toilets and changing rooms. There is also a large field shelter; this has facilities such as: a licenced bar, a barbeque, and storage area.
The recreation ground hosts a number of village events throughout the year such as the village Olympics, and the Sumer Fete and dog show. Our annual November fireworks display is held in the field adjacent to the Crop Mech barns, situated opposite the recreation ground. In addition, the cricket pitch is made good use of from May to September by the local cricket club for both training and matches. To see when the next cricket match is, check out our events calendar.
Sheep are grazed on the Ground over winter but the rest of the year it is a mecca for dog walkers.
The Ground and its facilities are available for private hire from April to November, cricket fixtures permitting. Post Code EX20 3QF.
