The Laurels Inn is situated just one mile from the legendary Tarka Trail; there may be a hill to climb to get there, but as soon as you step through the door you’ll realise it was all worth it when you receive a warm welcome from Lin and her team!
A Brief History…
The Laurels Inn is a 17th century coaching house; over its four hundred year existence much has changed. The building was primarily a coaching house on the main route between Launceston and Lynton.
Subsequently, it became a magistrate’s court; then a home for fallen women of the parish; followed by a lodging house; coffee tavern and private house. In the 1970’s, it reopened as a public house.
